Glendale, California released its draft of a new ordinance controlling wireless facility installations for public and industry review today. It is available here, and from the city’s website under headlines.
Cell carriers are anxious to install thousands more cell sites across the U.S. to serve mobile broadband users. The FCC’s insistence on open internet access gives carriers a further excuse to ask for federal help in pushing more towers past local zoning hearings.
Residents: this is your chance to review and comment on a local ordinance that would control how towers and cell sites are placed in Glendale. The city is inviting both residents and industry representatives to a series of community meetings.
The local community group Glendale Organized Against Cell Towers is encouraging all Glendale residents to review the issues and the draft ordinance and participate in the process.
