“From the Heart” National Charity League’s 9th Annual Blood Drive

More than 100 scheduled donors are set to give blood at the National Charity League annual July blood drive at Verdugo Hills Hospital, but there are still many available appointment times. The community is encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. Due to overwhelming popularity, the 9:00 – 10:00 time slots are already full. Walk-ins are accepted after 10:00 am.

Blood Drive Reminders:

Bring a photo ID to the Blood Drive.
16-year-old donors need parental consent. Forms will be at the blood drive.
Get a good night’s sleep before you donate.
Eat a healthy breakfast or lunch (or both if you have an afternoon appointment).
Avoid Aspirin for 72 hours before donating.
In the days before you donate – drink lots of water & eat iron rich foods.

Help NCL and the Red Cross increase its store of needed blood supplies, as donations run low in the summer months!
