Glendale Riverwalk Bridge Community Meeting

September 11, 2014 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

The City of Glendale is holding a community meeting for the Glendale Narrows Riverwalk Project to discuss the Location and concept of a LA River and Verdugo Wash bridge.

The Glendale Narrows Riverwalk is a one mile long pedestrian and bicycle trail along the Los Angeles River within the City of Glendale. Currently, we are in a stage of developing a conceptual design of a LA river and Verdugo Wash bridge that would link Glendale to Los Angles and Griffith Park. We are also designing and constructing the final two parks to complete the trail.

Completion of the Riverwalk project offers important opportunities for the City of Glendale – increased access for residents and visitors to the LA River and potentially to Griffith Park, stronger connectivity to bike, pedestrian and possibly equestrian paths, and improved access and safety to the Grand Central Creative Campus, River Glen Opportunity Area, and San Fernando Creative Corridor.

The benefits are plentiful and include access to a serene riparian environment within a unique urban setting; the ability to enjoy outdoor recreation, pedestrian and bike pathways, public art and interpretative signage just minutes from creative workplaces; and access to shopping and dining in downtown Glendale and its unique villages.

This is an exciting opportunity for the community to get involved and help create a fantastic project for all! Everyone is welcome!
