Fresno State New Music Ensemble Performing Contemporary Armenian Compositions

the Fresno State New Music Ensemble, sponsored by the Brand Associates and the Armenian General Benevolent Union, performs works from contemporary composers dedicated to the 100 year anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.A reception for the artists will follow the concert.

Music by Charles Amirkhanian, Joseph Bohigian, Eve Beglarian, Tigran Mansurian, Artur Avanesov, Hayk Arsenyan, Anna Aidinian.

The Fresno State New Music Ensemble is a student-run chamber ensemble at CSU Fresno dedicated to the performance and promotion of music by living composers. The ensemble presents at least one concert each semester at CSU Fresno, in addition to other performances around the state. This concert will feature music by living Armenian composers from around the world, in commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

In addition, New Music Ensemble percussionist and composer Joseph Bohigian has written a new piece commemorating the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide which was premiered by the ensemble at its March 9th concert in Fresno, California and will receive a repeat performance at this event. The concert will also feature the winner of the New Music Ensemble’s Call for Scores by Armenian Composers.
