Citizen Tanouye Film Screening and Q&A

August 14, 2014 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Citizen Tanouye, a documentary film produced by eight ethnically diverse Torrance, CA high school students, focuses on Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Tech Sgt Ted Tanouye, a Japanese-American who enlisted after the attack on Pearl Harbor and was a combat casualty in the European theatre. The students explore the impact World War II had on their city, while drawing attention to civil rights abuses of that era. Director Robert Horsting will answer questions after the screening.

Free screening and lecture sponsored by the Library, Arts & Culture Dept., the Brand Associates and the Friends of the Glendale Public Library. Seating is limited. Library visitors receive 3 hours FREE parking across the street at The Market Place parking structure with validation at the loan desk.
