Families, Friends, Neighbors Cast in Stepping Stone Players’ Oliver! in Northwest Glendale – Opening Night August 2

OliverSSPThe Stepping Stone Players bring Lionel Bart’s Oliver! to Glendale starting August 2 with a local cast of almost 60 children and adults, including 14 families.

Stepping Stone productions are hyper-local, fun, family-friendly entertainment. The Diamond Award winning summer theatre group is acclaimed for combining all ages, skill levels and backgrounds in its shows. Since 2000, the group has helped develop local talent and provided great learning experiences.

Nalani Coleman’s son, David, loves being in the musical with his grandfather, voicing proudly that his grandfather “rocks”! Mary Weiss Creith says, “The rehearsals are a family affair.” April McCaffery says, “The benefit I didn’t expect was this chance to see each other in different lights; not just as mother/daughter, but as people.”

Professionals work with amateurs in these productions. Parents notice their children take responsibility and gain self-confidence as a result. “[Everyone] really welcomed both of my children and held them to a standard. They are expected to be prepared and to focus during rehearsal,” says Creith. Betty Fritz’s daugher Jamie “has learned so much from the stage director, the choreographers, and the voice coaches and from her fellow actors.”

Members of these and other families are looking forward to their performances. Check out all the performer profiles now on The Stepping Stone Players’ Facebook page.
