“From the Heart” Blood Drive: National Charity League Seeking Donors for “Save-A-Life” Sunday, July 7

NCLlogoThe mothers and daughters of National Charity League, Inc., Glendale Chapter are preparing for their 7th annual “From the Heart” American Red Cross blood drive. Each July, the Glendale Chapter volunteers at Verdugo Hills Hospital to coordinate a blood drive during “Save-a-Life” Sunday, named because blood donations decrease on holiday weekends even though the need for blood doesn’t! This year the blood drive is Sunday, July 7, 9am-3pm.

Volunteers are set, but more donors are needed! If you, or someone you know, can donate blood on July 7 between 9AM and 3PM, please email Sue Wright to set up an appointment.

In addition to whole blood and double red cell donations, “Be the Match” will also be onsite, and just a simple cheek swab is all that is necessary to join the National Bone Marrow Registry.

Blood supplies are typically low during the summer, not only in our community, but throughout the country, so NCL’s July drives occur during the period of most crucial need.
