Hooverrelease1photosThe 55th Annual Hoover Christmas Tour of Homes is this Saturday, December 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s event will feature four character homes decorated to reflect the family holiday traditions of each homeowner.

The tour is sponsored by the Hoover High School Parent Teachers Association, with proceeds used to fund scholarships for Hoover High School graduates.

On the tour: an American Colonial Revival home built in 1937 and now listed on the Glendale Register of Historic Resources; a French Normandy home built in 1937; a Spanish-style property that retains many of its original mahogany beams, doors, and windows; and a sprawling California Ranch home built in 1937.

At each location, attendees will be able to enjoy seasonal entertainment, provided primarily by Hoover students. At the Colonial Revival property, tea will be served to tour visitors. French Normandy visitors will hear the Hoover Jazz Band, and the Hoover Chorus will perform at the California Ranch property. A Christmas boutique will be held at the Spanish home.

Special this year: A food court will be available in the south parking lot at Kenneth Village to accommodate those who wish to have lunch. The food service will be provided by Kenneth Village vendors who will donate a portion of their proceeds to the tour.

Tickets, $25 in advance, can be obtained at several businesses in Kenneth Village, the concierge at The Americana at Brand, and the Alex Theater. For further information, visit www.hoovertourofhomes.org.
