UK Approves Mobile Phone Warnings

Official warnings about possible long-term health effects of mobile phone use go into effect in the United Kingdom within the next few weeks.

According to the Daily Mail Online, warnings will advise parents to ensure that children under 16 limit their use of mobile phones.

The Education Secretary has urged schools to ban students under 16 from using mobile phones except in emergencies, and another government department is reviewing regulations of wireless transmitting facilities. The article states that“there is likely to be some attempt to calm public concern over the masts, of which there are about 20,000 in Britain, including 500 on school sites.”
