Local Writers – Independent Voices,
on Writing and Publishing 1

How can authors write and publish their own books? Local columnists and writers Patrick Caneday, Dean Hartwell, Gary Huerta and Laurie Stevens have all signed up to tell us tomorrow at the Glendale Main Library Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public, sponsored by the Friends of the Glendale Public Library.

Electronic and self-publishing options for aspiring authors are hot topics, and this panel discussion is convenient and close to home. Check the Sunroom Desk calendar listing or the Glendale Library Friends’ event webpage for details.

The Friends of the Glendale Library work to offer outstanding programs FREE to the community. Join the Friends to support the Children’s Summer Reading Program, acquisitions, author and panel discussions, and other projects.

More ways to help: Shop at upcoming furniture and book sales – at Brand Library (The Return of the Sequel), and the Main Library (Dock Sale). Friends receive discounts! Proceeds underwrite Friends’ projects.

National Library Week, and a Friends membership drive, are coming up next week. Join and contribute to the civic mission of Glendale’s library system.
