The City of Glendale Commission on the Status of Women has opened nominations for the 2012 Jewels of Glendale : Women of Courage Award. Community members can nominate women who work, live, or study in Glendale that have overcome obstacles, serve as role models, and demonstrate exceptional strength, courage, and perseverance. Awardees will be honored at the Eighth Annual Jewels of Glendale Luncheon, Thursday, May 10 at the Oakmont Country Club, Glendale.
The Commission is also seeking nominations for the 2012 Gem of Glendale Award, a scholarship for one outstanding student (male or female) engaged in community service that benefits women and/or girls, and reflects the core values and mission of the Commission on the Status of Women.
