Air Quality and Transportation Regional Conference

October 19, 2011
8:00 amto4:00 pm

Millennium Biltmore Hotel
506 S. Grand Ave.
Los Angeles

Produced by the South Coast Air Quality Management District. Conference is free and includes lunch; space is limited and registration is required.

From the email blast: “The conference will address air pollution and health issues in the transportation and goods movement sector. Mobile sources, such as on-road vehicles, locomotives, and marine vessels, create the vast majority of air pollution and contribute to thousands of deaths every year. However, transportation is a key and vital part of our economy, our lives, and our society. AQMD’s conference will identify the issues associated with air quality, mobility, energy security and goods movement, and engage the public and private sectors in order to develop policy and funding solutions. Policy experts and key stakeholders will be brought together to discuss innovative solutions to the diverse regional issues that affect nearly 17 million people living in Southern California. The conference will also address the need for greater investment in clean and efficient transportation, including infrastructure and technologies that improve the environment, enhance mobility, improve energy efficiency, create jobs, and reduce our nation’s dependence on petroleum.”
