Business Life Features Glendale Doctors’ Public Service: Free Clinics, Armenian Call-in TV Show, More

Two Glendale doctors who share a family medical practice have each established weekly free clinics serving homeless, uninsured, and low-income patients who cannot afford health care. Read about Dr. Steve Kamajian and Dr. Arbi Ghazarian in Serving Health Needs: Glendale to Thousand Oaks, Business Life Magazine.

Glendale family practitioner Dr. Narine Arutyounian hosts an Armenian language live television show, Medical Mondays, featuring only board-certified physicians and answering callers’ medical questions. The story behind the locally-aired show was just published as Healthcare: Bridging Language and Cultural Barriers, Business Life Magazine.

The volunteer efforts of Glendale Adventist Medical Center’s chief of staff Dr. Janet Cunningham are featured in the magazine as well. Each summer since 2006, she has traveled to Malawi, a landlocked country in Africa at the epicenter of the global HIV/AIDS epidemic, to assist with setting up family practice medical clinics.
