Beautiful Science: GCC Guest Lecture on Huntington Library Permanent Exhibit

Beautiful Science: Ideas that Changed the World, a Huntington Library permanent exhibit which won the 2009 American Association of Museums Grand Prize, is the subject of a special guest lecture at GCC next week. Dr. Daniel Lewis, who created the exhibit, will discuss its creation, construction and reception (it is seen by approximately 200,000 people each year).

Dr. Lewis, Chief Curator of Manuscripts and Dibner Senior Curator for the History of Science at the Huntington Library in San Marino, has conducted post-doctoral research at Oxford University, England; and the Smithsonian Institution Archives, Washington, DC. He is the Kenneth E. and Dorothy V. Hill Fellow at Huntington Library, and teaches Archival Theory and Practice as a Research Associate Professor in the History Department at Claremont Graduate University.

Part of the GCC Science Lecture Series, the presentation is free and open to the public. It will take place Tuesday, April 26 at 12:20 p.m. in the Santa Barbara Building, Room 243, at Glendale Community College, 1500 N. Verdugo Road. For more information, call 818-240-1000.
