Upcoming Special Events Planned by
Glendale Commission on the Status of Women 1


April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and in an effort to promote prevention of sexual assaults against women and girls, the Glendale Commission on the Status of Women is providing FREE SELF-DEFENSE CLASSES to women and girls ages 12 and up. Two classes will be offered:
Thursday, April 7, 6:00-8:30 pm at the Glendale Police Department
Thursday, April 21, 5:30-8:00 pm at Glendale Community College

The commission will host the 7th Annual Jewels of Glendale, this year honoring women of courage Mona Marcos, Lynne Raggio, Tanis Rhines, Blanca Zavala, Special Chair’s Recognition to Lana Haddad, and Gem Scholarship Awardee Ani Ghazikhanian. The luncheon will be held May 5, starting at 11 a.m. at the Oakmont Country Club. This city webpage invitation provides reservation and sponsorship details.
