While T-Mobile ads tout its 4G wireless network in bright ads, the corporation is forcing its cell towers near homes of LA County residents who have fought valiantly against the installations in Windsor Hills and in Hacienda Heights. The federal government is pushing wireless broadband deployment but taking no steps to examine its standards for radiation exposure as wireless networks expand exponentially.
Halfway around the world, Israel’s Ministry of the Environment has called for a review of how 4G infrastructure could increase public exposure to radiation. Excerpt from the official announcement:
…expanding the infrastructure is expected to increase the use of this technology, which may in turn increase the public’s overall exposure to cellular radiation. While the health implications of this radiation have not been sufficiently clarified, the precautionary principle dictates joint discussion and examination of the issue.
