The Glendale Community College Jazz band played as a capacity crowd arrived at the Embassy Suites Hotel last Thursday for the Glendale Latino Association’s Community Awards and Installation Luncheon.
The organization holds its annual luncheon and monthly mixers to raise scholarship funds for deserving high school seniors in Glendale. Students: the deadline to apply for GLA’s 2011 scholarship awards is this Friday, March 4. Application forms and instructions are here on the GLA’s new website.
Congratulations to the deserving recipients of GLA’s 2011 Community Awards: Woman of the Year Susan Hunt (Glendale Educational Foundation), Man of the Year Al Garcilazo (Glendale Adventist Medical Center Senior Chaplain), and Business of the Year Massage Envy (which helps with fundraising and special events for many local charities and is an active member of the Glendale Downtown Merchants Association).
