Thursday Teen Dating Violence Forum Sponsored by Commission on the Status of Women

“What Parents & Teens Need to Know” about teen dating violence will be presented by Barrie Levy, MSW, UCLA Departments of Social Welfare & Women’s Studies this Thursday, October 28, 7 pm at the Glendale Central Library Auditorium, 222 E. Harvard St. in Glendale.

Levy has appeared on several television shows to discuss this topic, and is the author of several books and reports on dating violence. Given that one in three teens will encounter abuse in their dating relationships, this is an important topic that cannot be ignored.

The program is offered by the Glendale Commission on the Status of Women and the Glendale Unified School District to inform teens and families about the problem, and what to do if a family member or friend needs help. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A will representatives from the Glendale Police Department, the LA County Bar Association Domestic Violence Project, the Glendale YWCA (which has a program for victims of domestic violence), and others.

The event is free and open to the public. Free, 3-hour parking (validation stamp at the library circulation desk) is available at the parking garage across the street from the library.
