The Friends of the Glendale Public Library raise funds for vital library materials and programs, including a packed schedule of free author events.
This past Monday, the library hosted Father Gregory Boyle, founder of Homeboy Industries and author of the bestseller Tattoos on the Heart. The auditorium was filled to capacity, and those who came were rewarded by his amazing stories and inspiring example.
The speakers program is just one of many of the library’s free services, including summer reading programs, literacy programs, film series, and more. Several membership levels support library services to everyone in the community: children, parents, students, job-seekers, bookworms, professionals, English-language learners, senior citizens, and bloggers!
The Friends will hold their annual meeting next Wednesday, May 19, starting at 6:30 p.m. to conduct business and elect new board members.
At 7 p.m., the Friends will host a FREE panel discussion with current authors of paranormal mysteries and romances.
Check out the library event webpage, and come to the library next week to hear (alliteration alert!) a probing panel discussion on the paranormal publishing genres.
