Sparr Heights homeowner representatives suggested their area be reassigned to the “North” Glendale Police Department command area, one of four in the city which will become operational October 11.
The comment followed Glendale Police Captain Kirk Palmer’s presentation Monday night to the Glendale Homeowners’ Coordinating Council on the new department Policing Model.
The new model emphasizes “Quality of Life Policing,” according to Palmer, with commanders watching over an area “as if it was their own front yard.”
Homeowner representatives argued that their Sparr Heights neighborhood is linked to schools and shopping in Montrose, making it a part of that community.
