Krekorian To Host Economic Aid Workshop Saturday


Assistant Majority Leader Paul Krekorian, 43rd Assembly District, will host a free economic aid workshop May 23 in his continuing efforts to help job-seekers, renters and potential or current homeowners navigate the troubled economy. Krekorian related that:

“Each week, hundreds of people call my office with questions about how to expedite their claims, how best to contact state agencies and how they can avoid further fiscal collapse. This workshop will be a great way to help those in my district and beyond survive this meltdown and get them back on the road to recovery.”


The Housing and Financial Crisis Workshop will be held Saturday, May 23, 2009, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Roy Romer Middle School, 6501 Laurel Canyon Blvd., North Hollywood.

The Employment Development Department will be on hand to help the unemployed, other experts will offer foreclosure assistance, and representatives will host workshops for renters and residents who will can learn how first-time home buyers can take advantage of up to $70,000 in government grants.

Neighborhood Legal Services, Operation Hope, the California Department of Real Estate, CalCPA, the California Department of Consumer Affairs, and others will also be represented at the seminar.

Free parking is available in the parking structure at the intersection of Hamlin Street and Bellingham Avenue.
