Glendale Arts Website Up and Running in Beta Form

I checked the Glendale Arts website today (as I’ve been doing periodically) and just found it up and running in beta form.

According to the Alex Theatre website:

Glendale Arts is a private nonprofit organization, charged with managing the Alex Theatre and coordinating resources that are designed to benefit Glendale-based artists, arts organizations, businesses, government agencies, and local schools. Established in July 2008, Glendale Arts is the culmination of a community-wide arts assessment that included input from Alex Regional Theatre Board and staff, and City and community leaders.

In addition to calendar listings, the Glendale Arts website features links to artists, organizations, and venues. The venues listing appears limited to locations of currently scheduled events (I wondered, for example, why the Glendale Civic Auditorium wasn’t listed). Portions of the site still appear incomplete.

Setting up an ongoing cultural events calendar is a design as well as administrative challenge, but the result should boost visibility for arts events in the city.

To add the website to bookmarks or favorites, make sure to note the suffix in glendalearts.org (www.glendalearts.com will bring up Glendale, Arizona event listings).

  1. Thank you so much for your post! We are thrilled that you continue to check back with us on an on-going basis to see our progress!

You are correct in pointing out that the site currently has limited listings for venues and events and that several aspects of the site still need to be refined.

I did want to note that the site was created with the intent of having the community contribute the content for events, venues, organizations, et al. It is our hope, and expectation, that as the site grows in recognition, these venues, businesses, organizations and event will be added by individual contributors.

I would also like to note that while the site is primarily arts related, non-profit organizations and service clubs are also able to promote their events and organizations.

We encourage you and your readers to invite your contacts to register and add their information to the site and please do continue to check back with us periodically to see what’s happening the community as well as updates and enhancements!

    Thank you Glendale Arts Staff!
