GTV6 Link to April 24 Commemoration Program; Speaker Mark Arax Visits Glendale Library June 1

Checking the GTV6 page on the city’s website, I discovered a video link to the Alex Theater April 24, 2009 Annual Commemoration Program. The program can be seen on computer from this video link; the weekly schedule also shows it being replayed several times on GTV6.

Mark Arax was an excellent choice as the event’s keynote speaker, and well worth listening to on the video. Taking a stand for journalistic integrity over Armenian genocide issues, he was forced to leave the LA Times in 2007. A highly-regarded investigative reporter, he has received eight Pulitzer nominations.

Arax will discuss West of the West: Dreamers, Believers, Builders, and Killers in the Golden State at a Friends of the Glendale Public Library event Monday, June 1. He will be joined by his cousin Aris Janigian, presenting his latest book Riverbig: A Novel.
